Class of 2020:  Jostens will be back to take your class jewelry orders today,  during all lunches.  Please bring your order form and 1st payment on Wednesday and get your free 2020 companion ring.  Extra packets are in the main office.

DECA Club meeting tomorrow, August 30, after school in Mrs. Cutshaw's room (482) beside the DE Store.  This will be a brief informational meeting regarding competition, events and upcoming meeting info.  If you would like to receive DECA updates, text @westdeca to 81010.  Anyone interested in business is welcome to join.

HOSA members:  All dues must be paid by Friday, Aug. 31, to one of the HOSA advisors.

Recycle team meeting Friday, August 31, in Dr. Sauceman's room, during TNN.  All interested please attend!

Do you have a 27 composite on the ACT? Have you met the ACT benchmarks in all areas? Are you good at sharing your knowledge? Do you need to make a little extra money? If so, we need you to be a part of the ACT Peer Tutoring Program!  Peer tutors will be asked to tutor 3 students for a total of 24 hours. The pay will be $10.00 an hour. There is also a chance for a bonus of up to $300.00.  Please see the counseling office for an application. All applications must be turned back in to the counseling office by August 30th!

Any student, male or female, that would like to wrestle this year needs to see Coach Young or Coach Hardin before or after school as soon as possible. 

Attention new and current Beta Club and NHS members:  The first Beta and NHS meeting of the year will be September 11.  The meeting will be in the library beginning at 3:05.  Any student receiving an invitation to join Beta or NHS has until Sept 4 to get money and paperwork turned in.  Please see Mrs. Sarah Bowen or Mrs. Nicole Owens for details.

Picture retakes for ALL students, including Seniors, will be October 3.  Any student or faculty member that did not have their picture taken may do so on this date.  Seniors will have a $25 sitting fee that covers the cost of the proofs and the use of the formal attire.  Only students that purchased pictures and did not like their pictures should come to the auditorium for retakes.  You will need to bring your pictures back to the photographer to have them remade. 

Attention academically talented Juniors and Sophomores:  the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test will be given at West High October 24.  Academically talented Juniors should take this exam in order to participate in the National Merit Competition.  Academically talented Sophomores may take the test for practice.  The cost of the test is $16.  Registration and payment of fees will be processed in the counseling office.  Please come by and register in the counseling office before Sept. 10.
