Any student interested in joining the Tennis team this year, needs to be at the Country Club, today, right after school.

The library is excited to announce the beginning of extended hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting today. We will open at 7:25 a.m. and will stay open until 3:45 p.m. Please see the teacher on bus duty at the front door in the morning to sign-in and be admitted to the building if you need to come to the library. Books and Breakfast will meet Friday, September 14th in the library at 7:30 a.m. Morning passes for Friday will be delivered on Wednesday and Thursday. Please try to bring in your $10 dues before Friday! The library would also like to congratulate our top three patrons for the month of August: Hailey Carnal, Addison Pennington, and Lori Mass. Please see Ms. Long or Mrs. Szatkowski for your prize!

Attention new and current Beta Club and NHS members:  Due to the library being used after school today, Beta and NHS will meet in the library tomorrow. 

Attention students and teachers:  the Art Club/National Art Honor Society will be meeting in Mrs. Reed’s Room (Room 531), tomorrow, September 12, 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The Governor William Blount Scholars Program is an opportunity for interested students to learn more about history through hands-on experiences.  Meetings will take place throughout the semester at the Blount Mansion in Knoxville.  This year's topics include open hearth cooking, timber framing and Cherokee history.  The first session will take placed on Thursday, September 13, at 5:30.  Interested students should see Mr. Moreland in room 700 for an application.

Jostens will be here on Friday, September 14, to share graduation material orders with our senior class.  They will be here during TNN.

National Art Honor Society students will participate in Arts in the Parks at Martin Luther King Jr. Park on Saturday, September 15, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. They will be face painting for children at the park. Sign up sheet is in Mrs. Reed's room (Room 531). This is an excellent way for students to receive service hours for Tennessee Promise.

The Tusculum University Upward Bound Program is now accepting applications.  Upward Bound is an intensive college preparatory program designed to help students succeed in high school and prepare for success in college.  UB offers enrichment activities and academic assistance as well as a residential summer component for students.  All services are FREE for students that are selected for the program.  For more information or for an application, stop by the guidance office.  Al interested freshmen and sophomores are encouraged to apply.
