 Tennis practice will be at the Country Club today, 3:30 - 5:00.  All players should attend.

Attention all UT Engineering Day Participants- Please pick up a permission slip from Mrs Sedlack or Mrs Dallemagne as soon as Possible.

There will be an Inventor's Club meeting today, October 18, and tomorrow October 19, at 3:00 in Mr. Hawkin's room.

Morristown West Women's Choir is holding a fundraiser, today, 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm, at Freddy's.  Come enjoy fresh food and help raise funds for a good cause!

Students assigned to detention today should report promptly at 3:05 to Room 431, which is the ALP room.  students arriving after that time will not be admitted.  Students must bring something with them to read or work on.  Failure to serve a tardy or administrative detention will result in the student being placed on the next level of the assertive discipline plan.

"Books and Breakfast" Club will meet in the library tomorrow, Oct. 19, at 7:30 a.m. Invitations will be sent Wednesday or Thursday.  If you do not receive yours by TNN on Thursday, please stop by the library to get one.   If you have not paid your $10 dues, please do so this Friday. 

Attention Seniors:  If you have not had your senior pictures taken, you have one last chance on Tuesday, October 23.  You will be called to the auditorium by last name.

Calling all artists!  All students are encouraged to enter the  Early Postsecondary Week art contest. The competition is to design a logo for West High to promote the many ways students can earn postsecondary credit.  These include advanced placement, dual enrollment, and industry certification.  Flyers are posted around our campus.  See your art teacher or Mr. Moreland for more information. The deadline is Tuesday, October 23, and the winner will receive a $35.00 Amazon gift card.

We have a few PSAT tests available.  This will be for Juniors for National Merit.  If any are still available at the end of the week, we will open it to Sophomores.  Please come by the counseling office to register.  The test is $16 and will be given on October 24.  If you are already registered to take the PSAT on the 24th, please pick up a student guide in the counseling office.

Attention all Hispanic and Latino students:  The annual Hispanic Student Day at ETSU is October 24.  Please pick up your permission form in the guidance office.  Return the form to guidance, as well.  There are 35 spaces available.  Preference is given to juniors and select sophomores.  Forms are due October 22.

Calling all book lovers!  The public library has started a Teen Book Club.  The first meeting will be at Morristown Hamblen Public Library, Thursday,  Oct. 25, from 4-5 p.m.  The book for this month is "Pipestone:  My Life in an Indian Boarding School," by Adam Fortunate Eagle.  Get your free copy at the upper level circulation desk at the public library before copies run out! 

Attention Beta Club and NHS members:  If you missed yesterday's meeting and you haven't signed the minutes outside Mrs. Bowen's room, you will not be in good standing with the clubs.  Missing 2 or more meetings may cause you to lose membership.  Beta and NHS will participate in Boo Fest at Fred Miller Park, on October 29.  Please bring in candy to Mrs. Bowen or Mrs. Owens ASAP.  Members needing service hours may volunteer at Boo Fest and Mountain Makins. Sign-up sheets are outside Mrs. Bowen's room.  Also, please drop off toiletry items for the service project to either to Mrs. Bowen or Mrs. Owens now through Thanksgiving.
