The deadline for the Early Postsecondary Opportunities Logo Contest is today.  Please submit your entries to your art teacher or Mr. Moreland, by 3:00.  The winner will receive a $35 Amazon gift card.  The winner will be announced this week. 

The Voice of Democracy scholarship is now available in the counseling office.  This year's theme is "Why My Vote Matters."  Top scholarship award is $30,000.   Please come by the counseling office today.

The library will be closed until 3rd period tomorrow, for PSAT testing. 

There will be an Inventor's Club meeting tomorrow, October 24, from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. and on Friday, October 26, from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.  Any member is welcome to come; however, the focus will be on finishing the current project.  The Inventor's club will start a new project on November 2, so all members should be a that meeting. 

Attention all Hispanic and Latino students:  The annual Hispanic Student Day at ETSU is tomorrow, October 24. Permission slips are due today.

Attention Beta Club and NHS members: Beta and NHS will participate in Boo Fest at Fred Miller Park, on October 29.  Please bring in candy to Mrs. Bowen or Mrs. Owens ASAP.  Members needing service hours may volunteer at Boo Fest and Mountain Makins. Sign-up sheets are outside Mrs. Bowen's room.  Also, please drop off toiletry items for the service project to either to Mrs. Bowen or Mrs. Owens now through Thanksgiving.

This year's TALENT SHOW will be Friday, November 9th during 3rd block.  Auditions for the Talent Show will be held next week, Thursday, November 1st after school. We are looking for special talents from students in all grade levels! Singing, dancing, magic, comedy, poetry, and any other unique talents are welcome to audition! Please stop by room 470 or 710 to sign up and get more information. 

This year the West High Yearbook Staff  is holding a contest to encourage students to send in their photos.  The student with the best photo will win a free yearbook and be featured with their photo in the book.  All photos must be submitted by January 15, 2019.  Photos may be entered by using the Balfour Image Share app and our program code, 929306.  For more information, feel free to pick up the Photo Contest information sheet in the yearbook room, 447, or outside Mrs. Cutshaw's room, 482.  The Yearbook Staff does not guarantee that any photos for submission.   Photos must be school-appropriate and relevant to school or school interests, cannot be a copyrighted image, logo, or registered trade mark, and must be the work of the person submitting the photo  If you have concerns about the content of your photo, please see a responsible adult and confirm their approval before sending that photo in.
