There will be an Inventor's Club meeting today at 3:00 p.m.

Tennis practice has been cancelled for today.

Students who received information about Walters State Verification Day-- please remember Walters State will be here Tuesday morning April 9th to complete the work with you.  Bring the information that Walters State needed from you.  If you have questions, go see Emily Ray in the counseling office today!

Do you know how to read and write cursive?  If not, you may be interested in learning!  Join us in Mr. McLaughlin's room, Tuesday, April 9, at 3:10 for a 30 minute class on reading and writing cursive.  Snacks will be provided!  See Mr. McLaughlin's to sign up or ask questions. 

We are proud to announce next year’s Student Body Executive Officers:  Historian – Ansley Eskew, Secretary – Hayden Howard,Vice President – Christopher Best, and Student Body President – Macy Noe.  Congratulations to these students!  There are still several Class Office positions without any candidates, so we will reopen the application process and accept new candidates for the unclaimed positions. These positions are available for next year:  Sophomore Class Vice President, Sophomore Class Treasurer, TWO Sophomore Class Representatives, Junior Class Treasurer, THREE Junior Class Representatives, Senior Class Secretary, Senior Class Treasurer, FOUR Senior Class Representatives.  Applications are due TUESDAY, APRIL 9th, by 3:30 p.m. If you are interested in serving on Student Council next year in one of these positions, please pick up an application in the front office or from Ms. Cobb in room 470 or Mrs. Story in room 710.

Prom tickets will be on sale next week, April 8-12, after school in the front lobby.  A single ticket is $25, and a couple's ticket is $45.  Only cash will be accepted.  Please contact Mrs. Story in room 710 if you have questions.

Any FFA member with an interest in being a FFA Officer for the 2019-2020 school year needs to see Mr. Tripucka as soon as possible to get an officer application.  Officers will be nominated and voted on at the FFA meeting on April 11. 

The last meeting of Books and Breakfast will be Friday, Apr. 12, in the library at 7:30-7:50.  Please let Ms. Long or Mrs. Szatkowski know by Wednesday, April 10,  if you plan to attend, so we can get a head count for providing food.  

The Hamblen County Retired Teachers Scholarship in the amount of $350 is available to any senior interested in pursuing a degree in Education.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.  Deadline is April 15, 2019.

Students interested in joining the West Side Story newspaper staff next year for one semester or all year should please obtain an application on Mrs. Whaley's door.  Students will create the monthly newspaper, handle the West Side Story Twitter and Instagram accounts, update the school web page, design ads, and explore numerous communication careers.  These applications are due Fri., April 19.

Applications for next years yearbook staff are available outside of Mrs. Cutshaws room 482 or outside of the yearbook room room 447. Any upcoming sophomore through senior interested in being a part of the staff is encouraged to apply. 

Attention Students: A 1010 form must be requested in the front office 3 days in advance for your driver's permit. 1st form for the school year is free, $3.00 charge thereafter. 1010 form is not required for driver's license unless your driver's permit is out of state.
