English AP, English II Regular, English III, English III Honors

This is my fifth year teaching English at Morristown-Hamblen High School West after twelve years of teaching at Cocke County High School.  Prior to working at West, I earned a B.A. in English and History at Lincoln Memorial University.  I then studied English literature during a fellowship at the University of Cincinnati.  Later, I earned an M.A.T. from Carson-Newman College and completed student teaching at Morristown-Hamblen High School East and Maury Middle School.  After teaching at CCHS for six years, I decided to pursue an Ed.D. with a focus in Classroom Leadership that I finished in 2008.  During this time, I also completed the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification in English Language Arts--Adolescence and Young Adulthood.

My husband, Matthew, is the principal of John Hay Elementary School.  We live in Morristown with our two young sons, Thomas and Isaac.  My hobbies include reading, antiquing, and playing the piano.
