The Men's Cross Country team competed at the state meet in Nashville this past Saturday in the division I large school event.  The guys finished 19th out of the top 24 large school teams in the state.  Blaine Metcalf led with his 85th place finish.  He was followed by Luis Hernandez--103rd, Ryan Haas--126th, Trent Lovelace--140th, Nathan Sia--153rd, Ethan Becker--161st, and Jesus Pacheco--163rd, to round out the top seven.  Please congratulate them on a fine season when you see them. 

The Library is holding a weekly trivia contest through the month of November for all students on our Morristown-Hamblen High School West Library Facebook page.  Check the page daily for a surprise trivia question.  Bring your answer to the library and be eligible to win a prize in a drawing made each week! Also, congratulations to the library's top patrons for the month of October:  Haily Carnal, Sahara Coblentz, and Sasha Munoz.  Stop by the library and claim your prizes!

There will be a meeting after school tomorrow in the library for all Beta and NHS members.  This is a mandatory meeting for all members and should last no more than 5 minutes if everyone arrives on time. 

Mandatory Cross Country meeting for all runners on Wednesday, at 3:05.  It will be brief.  BRING YOUR CLEAN UNIFORMS!

Students, make plans to attend the Fall Festival and dance on Friday, November 10, from 5-9 p.m.  Tickets will be on sale Monday, November 6, through Thursday, November 9, from 3:00 - 3:30 p.m. in the main lobby.  Gather your friends and make some wonderful memories!

The Mu Alpha Theta Math Club meeting will be held Monday, November 13, at 3:00 in Mrs. Dallemagne's room (425).  A club picture will be taken promptly at 3:10.  Attendance is required for all members.  Following the pictures, we will have a speaker.  Anyone can attend to receive points toward the Work Ethic diploma.  We will also discuss a possible field trip and December meeting activity.

A field trip to TCAT in Morristown is planned for November 20 for Juniors and Seniors interested in attending TCAT.  Permission forms are available in the counseling office and must be returned to the counseling office by Wednesday, November 15. 

Thanksgiving Food Drive is going on through Fri. Nov. 17.  Please help those in our community who have a need for food this holiday season. 

TN Promise Volunteer Opportunity:  Friday Nov. 17 Seniors may meet Mrs. Whaley at Central Services from 3:30-5:00 to sort food.  Volunteers are always needed for this.   This is an easy opportunity for seniors to receive 1.5 volunteer hours toward TN Promise.  Please see Mrs. Whaley for more details and a form.

TN Promise deadline for completion is January 16.  The FAFSA also is the application for the Tennessee Hope Scholarship which is available tot students attending a college or university in Tennessee who scored a 21 on the ACT or have a 3.0 unweighted GPA.

Students going to get their driving permits must request a 1010 form from the front office 3 days in advance.  First form is free; $3 charge thereafter.  You do NOT need a 10101 form for a driver's license UNLESS your driver's permit is out of state. 

Seniors get one college day, but it MUST BE APPROVED BEFORE YOU GO.   See Ms. Ferguson for further instructions.
