THE MEN'S AND WOMEN 'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS COMPETED IN THE KNIGHTS CROSS INVITATIONAL THIS PAST SATURDAY IN SALEM, VA.  THE LADIES FINISHED 11TH OUT OF 34 TEAMS AND WERE LED BY MADISYN PAGE'S 43RD PLACE FINISH.  SHE WAS FOLLOWED BY ASHLYN HAA--59TH, KATIE SIMONND--72ND, LINZEE MITCHEL--92ND, CAROLINE SPAI--136TH, MOLLY WRIGHT-- 167TH, AND ABIGAIL WILKERSO--216TH TO ROUND OUT THE TOP 7 IN THE 264 ATHLETE FIELD.   THE MEN FINISHED 9TH OUT OF 36 TEAMS WITH JESUS PACHECO LEADING THE WAY WITH A 32ND PLACE FINISH.  HE WAS FOLLOWED BY CHRISTIAN HENRY-- 59TH, LUIS HERNANDEZ--77TH, PATRICK LIPOSKY--78TH, NATHAN SIA--81ST, TRENT LOVELACE--101ST, RICARDO FLORES--161ST TO ROUND OUT THE TOP 7 IN 317 RUNNER FIELD.   PLEASE CONGRATULATE THEM WHEN YOU SEE THEM,  THEY WILL RUN NEXT AT THE FENDERS FARM INVITATIONAL IN JONESBORO THIS SATURDAY.

Any student interested in joining the Tennis team this year, needs to be at the Country Club, Tuesday, Sept. 11, right after school.

Attention new and current Beta Club and NHS members:  Due to the library being used after school on Tuesday, Beta and HHS will meet in the library on Wednesday. 

The library is excited to announce the beginning of extended hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting tomorrow, September 11th. We will open at 7:25 a.m. and will stay open until 3:45 p.m. Please see the teacher on bus duty at the front door in the morning to sign-in and be admitted to the building if you need to come to the library. Books and Breakfast will meet Friday, September 14th in the library at 7:30 a.m. Morning passes for Friday will be delivered on Wednesday and Thursday. Please try to bring in your $10 dues before Friday! The library would also like to congratulate our top three patrons for the month of August: Hailey Carnal, Addison Pennington, and Lori Mass. Please see Ms. Long or Mrs. Szatkowski for your prize!

Attention students and teachers:  the Art Club/National Art Honor Society will be meeting in Mrs. Reed’s Room (Room 531), September 12, 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The Governor William Blount Scholars Program is an opportunity for interested students to learn more about history through hands-on experiences.  Meetings will take place throughout the semester at the Blount Mansion in Knoxville.  This year's topics include open hearth cooking, timber framing and Cherokee history.  The first session will take placed on Thursday, September 13, at 5:30.  Interested students should see Mr. Moreland in room 700 for an application.

Jostens will be here on Friday, September 14, to share graduation material orders with our senior class.  They will be here during TNN.

National Art Honor Society students will participate in Arts in the Parks at Martin Luther King Jr. Park on Saturday, September 15, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. They will be face painting for children at the park. Sign up sheet is in Mrs. Reed's room (Room 531). This is an excellent way for students to receive service hours for Tennessee Promise.

Picture retakes for ALL students, including Seniors, will be October 3.  Any student or faculty member that did not have their picture taken may do so on this date.  Seniors will have a $25 sitting fee that covers the cost of the proofs and the use of the formal attire.  Only students that purchased pictures and did not like their pictures should come to the auditorium for retakes.  You will need to bring your pictures back to the photographer to have them remade. 

A 1010 form must be requested in the front office 3 days in advance for your driver's PERMIT.  The first form for the school year is free, $3.00 charge thereafter.  1010 form is NOT required for driver's LICENSE, unless your driver's PERMIT is out of state.
