FAFSA Information

The 2022-2023 Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open for completion! Students must complete the 2022-2023 FAFSA by 11:59 PM on February 1, 2022 for TN Promise eligibility and to receive other state and federal financial aid. Prior to completing the FAFSA, students and parents will need to create an FSA ID username and password.

: This year, THEC/TSAC is providing three new ways students and families can receive individual FAFSA completion assistance:
  1. “How to Complete a FAFSA“ Videos. These quick videos walk students through each step of completing a FAFSA. Videos can be accessed on YouTube here.
  2. Attend a Live Virtual Workshop. THEC/TSAC offers two virtual workshops every week where a Tennessee FAFSA expert walks students through completing the FAFSA. Students can register for a workshop here.
  3. Contact Us. If students need additional assistance completing the FAFSA, they can reach out to THEC/TSAC staff at FAFSA.Help@tn.gov. In the coming weeks, THEC/TSAC will a FAFSA hotline to provide a direct point of contact for students and their families to receive FAFSA help.
