Curriculum
We offer Advanced Placement courses in the following:
Biology, Calculus, English, U.S. History, Government, German, Latin,
French, Spanish, European History, Physics, Chemistry, Environmental
Science, Psychology, Statistics
 

We have dual enrollment agreements in place for students to take courses
during their Junior and Senior years at both Walters State and Carson
Newman College
 

CTE programs are available in Agriculture, Construction, Computer
Aided Design, Family and Consumer Sciences, Information Technology,
Marketing, Manufacturing , Transportation Service Technology and Nursing.
 

Prominent elective opportunities include Yearbook, Newspaper, Creative
Writing, Theater Arts, Forensics, Foreign Language, Band, Vocal Music, and
Visual Arts
 

Academies
We have a 9th grade academy entitled F/X Freshman experience. This academy
is designed to transition students from the middle schools to the high
school. Students work with a team of academic teachers to establish a
foundation of success for their high school years
 

We are seeking to have students in grades 10-12 to select a major from one
of four career themed academies. These academies are designed to help
students explore what they would like to do after high school and answer
the question "Why do I need to know this?"
 

Trojan Nation Network (TNN)
Students meet daily with an advisor to cover topics important to success
in high school and to make sure students are taking the right classes for
graduation.
 

Athletics
West High School offers 20 athletic opportunities, 10 for males and 10 for
females. The sports include the following: cross country, football,
cheerleading, volleyball, golf, soccer, basketball, swimming, wrestling,
baseball, softball, tennis and track.
